Storage Tank Management

Regulated Aboveground Storage Tanks (ASTs) and Underground Storage Tanks
(USTs) must meet the requirements of Chapter 245 of the Pennsylvania Code
entitled Implementation of the Storage Tank and Spill Prevention Act.
The staff of Patriot Environmental Management have performed numerous
closure and site assessment activities at properties throughout Pennsylvania
and New Jersey. Our knowledge and understanding of the regulation and
technical requirements allows us to steward the project through the regulatory
compliance process.
In cases where a release is confirmed, Patriot Environmental Management
has directed and supervised subsequent remedial activities, and Patriot
Environmental Management has the experience necessary to file claims with
the Pennsylvania Underground Storage Tank Indemnification Fund (USTIF)
for reimbursement of remediation costs.
Patriot environmental Management can perform
the closure activities working with the storage tank contractor selected
by the client, or this service can be provided by one of our partnering
firms.
We also offer closure services for unregulated residential and commercial
heating oil tanks. Although not regulated by Chapter 245, the property
owner is responsible under the Federal Clean Streams Law for any cleanup
efforts necessary to remediate impacted soils and / or groundwater. The
appropriate closure of these tanks may also remove potential environmental
liability from the property that may impede a property transaction. Click
