Andrew K. Markoski
Senior Geologist
Mr. Markoski is currently the Senior Geologist for Patriot
Environmental Management, LLC. His responsibilities include the
implementation and direct supervision of all geologic and
environmental investigations, as well as proposal and cost estimate
preparation, project management, and liaison with state and federal
regulatory agencies.
Experience:
Mr. Markoski has over 15 years of experience within the
environmental consulting industry. The majority of this experience
has been performed at the level of Geologist/Hydrogeologist and
Project Manager, responsible for all facets of project activities,
including but not limited to data collection and reporting; budget
management; equipment, materials, and subcontractor
procurement; and dialogue with regulatory agencies. His expertise
includes:
- Field oversight and regulatory support for the closure of
aboveground and underground storage tank systems in
accordance with Pennsylvania and New Jersey Department of
Environmental Protection regulations.
- Numerous soil, water, groundwater, and air sampling
techniques relevant to environmental investigations in
Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
- Design, installation, operation, and maintenance of soil and
groundwater remediation systems at leaking petroleum storage
tank sites in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
- Performance of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments for
property transactions in accordance with industry standards.
- Field oversight of water well drilling activities for testing and
production purposes for municipal and commercial clients.
- Experience in the utilization of surface and borehole
geophysical survey techniques for subsurface feature
identification and bedrock hydrogeologic interpretation;
- Coordination and field supervision of test boring investigations
for foundation design purposes, as well as soil testing, ground
stabilization, and foundation inspection; and,
- Experience with direct-push, hollow-stem auger, air rotary, and
mud rotary drilling techniques for monitoring well installation
efforts.
Key Projects:
- Project Manager responsible for the regulatory stewardship of
over 200 underground storage tank sites in Eastern
Pennsylvania and South Jersey for major and minor petroleum
retailers. The sites were in various stages of regulatory
compliance, ranging from site characterization following UST
closure to attainment sampling prior to site closure and project
completion.
- Project Manager responsible for the expedited performance of
baseline assessments for petroleum releases at over 50 retail
petroleum facilities in eastern Pennsylvania following the
merger of two major petroleum retailers.
- Project Manager responsible for
the stewardship of several commercial and industrial properties under the
Pennsylvania Land Recycling and Environmental Remediation Standards
Act (Act 2).
Project Geologist responsible for geologic interpretation for
the expansion permit at a solid waste facility in southeastern
Pennsylvania.
- Project Geologist providing field oversight for comprehensive
environmental investigations at industrial facilities in
Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Kentucky.
- Project Manager responsible for
the completion of over 100 Phase I and Limited Phase II Environmental Site
Assessments in southeastern Pennsylvania for the property development
division of a major petroleum retailer.
- Field Technician responsible for
the operation and maintenance of soil and groundwater remediation systems
at retail gasoline facilities, bulk storage facilities, and terminals in
eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
